Thanks to the free-to-play strategy game, many items in Fortnite Battle Royale require V-Bucks, the in-game currency. You can buy V-Bucks with real money, but many would rather earn V-Bucks instead of being nickel-plated and faded in microtransactions. Although limited, there are several ways to earn free V-Bucks in-game.

Unfortunately, with its popularity comes many malicious people who will sell lies or illegal hacks to players in order to earn "free" V-Bucks. Please do not trust them, as the methods they use may result in you being banned from the game. At the time of this writing, the methods below are the only legal methods, so any other "free vbucks" offering cannot be trusted.

    • Don't Miss: Unlock Custom Outfits and Other Rare Items in Fortnite Battle Royale

All but two methods require you to purchase the Players vs. Enemies (PvE) Save the World mode to earn free V-Bucks. This mode is the original game released July 25, 2017 as an Early Access game for Xbox One, PS4, Windows and macOS. While there are many special editions, the standard game (and lowest price) is $ 39.99. Once you have purchased the game, you can earn V-Bucks using the methods below.

We still have a lot of features to add before completing the PvE campaign. We're launching the Save the World PvE campaign for free in 2018.

    - Epic games

The problem for mobile users is that Save the World is currently not available. So the only way to use the first five methods is to access your PC (Windows or macOS), Xbox One or PS4 and play the game there. The V-Bucks you earn will carry over as Epic Games has included cross-progression for mobile users (just make sure you sign in with the same account on both systems). However, if you don't have access, go to Method 6.

    Method 1: daily login

The first way to earn V-Bucks is to enter Save the World mode daily. Every day you log in, you receive rewards ranging from cosmetic items to V-Bucks. The first day you earn V-Bucks is the 11th day (that is, entering the 11th day in Save the World mode), and the next day is not until the 28th. Although there are not many V-Bucks, it is the easiest method to complete.

    Method 2: Complete Daily Quests

After advancing in the main storyline in Save the World, you will gain access to daily quests. Daily quests function similarly to daily challenges in Battle Royale mode. Every day you will receive one daily quest that requires you to complete a specific task. These tasks include killing X enemies with a specific hero type or completing X missions with a specific hero type.

Upon completion, you will earn a minimum of 50 V-Bucks and only 3 daily quests offer more than that amount. As with the Daily Challenges, if you do not complete a quest that day, another one will be added the next day when you log in, with a maximum of three daily quests. After you've got three, you need to complete a daily quest to get a new one.

Method 3: Complete the Storm Shield missions

The third way to earn V-Bucks is by completing Storm Shield missions. These are missions in each of the four areas that you unlock as you progress through the main storyline in Save the World. Each area has 6 Storm Shield Missions at the start, and the remaining four are unlocked as side quests (more on that in a moment) as you progress further in the game. You earn 100 V-Bucks for everything except the tenth mission, which gives you 150 V-Bucks.

Method 4: Complete Challenges and Side Quests

Side Quests are another set of quests that can be completed to earn V-Bucks. Not all Side Quests earn you V-Bucks, but those that do can earn up to 150 V-Bucks.

Challenges are unlocked at different times throughout the main storyline. Challenges can be completed up to 10 times and you will receive up to 50 V-Bucks per completion.

You can find challenges and side quests under the Quests tab from the main menu.

    Method 5: participate in activities

Events are standalone quests that provide a variety of items, including V-Bucks. These events tend to happen weekly and include several different quests that will bring you V-Bucks. Check them out under the Jobs tab on the home screen.

    Method 6: buy a high-end V-Bucks package

The final way to get free V-Bucks is to buy one of the higher quality V-Bucks packages. All packages except the $ 9.99 package will get you free V-Bucks. While the $ 24.99 package doesn't offer a lot of rewards, the $ 59.99 package gives you extra $ 15 V-Bucks. The $ 99.99 also includes a great price, offering additional $ V-Bucks for $ 15. 35 with your purchase.

Please don't fall for the "Free V-Bucks" scam. There are several sophisticated schemes online that try to trick gamers into believing that free V-bucks are possible. One recent example is a website that claims you can earn V-Bucks by sharing a link with your friends via social media. The site is well designed and has links to the official page. However, this site is fake and should be avoided.
